  • I have NEVER written a bad review for any place before and I feel bad doing so, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I recently moved to Arizona, and was looking for a salon where I could be a long-term customer with. I was very excited to find the Root Salon, especially with it being so close to my house. I went in for just a trim to try it out, and I was shocked upon leaving to be charged $90. I have normal, medium length hair, and only had a 1/2" trim. I even re-checked their website, and verified that it says women's haircuts are $40-70 with $70 being the max. With the minimal amount I had trimmed, I was fully expecting to be charged $40, if not even less than that. I had no color treatments or other services done either. After leaving my stylist a tip, I walked out of there for well over $100 for a minor hair trim. I really feel as though I was mischarged, but felt completely embarrassed to dispute the cost of a haircut in front of others. As a student, I simply cannot afford a $90 haircut, especially if I want to have something more done than a trim. I feel so disappointed because I liked the place and thought it was beautiful and convenient, but cannot continue to pay their prices.
