  • So the desk guy asked me to write a review when I checked out. I do that anyway, so it was no problem to say yes. This is a perfectly adequate hotel. I had previously stayed two days at the Holiday Inn in Chinatown, but stupidly missed out on booking a third day (via Priceline) and with the snow coming down heavy in March and no snow tires, it was an easy decision to stay another day in Montreal vs. a foolhardy drive to Mont Tremblant where I probably can't afford anything anyway. SO I booked this place via Priceline too. The location is not as good as that of the Holiday Inn, but it's not terrible. The price was excellent, and though parking is $27 (approx.) for the night, it worked out well with in and out privileges. Unlike the Holiday Inn, we did not walk anywhere from here, but we did drive out for a night at the orchestra, which was great. I think you could still walk from here, but it might be a little bit more of a hike. Service here was super friendly, and we were offered a decent (not great) espresso upon check-in. Cool touch. The crowd at the hotel was a little less well-to-do than that at the Holiday Inn, but it felt perfectly safe to this American. The room itself was modern. It had hardwood floors, was very spacious, and had nice touches like a touch-on lamp and personal reading lights on the two full-size beds they gave us Priceline cheapskates. I will say getting from the room to the garage was easier here than any other hotel I stayed at this trip to Canada - it's on the same level as the lobby, very nice. They also had a little souvenir shop in the lobby, which is cool if you're into that sort of thing. Bottom-line: This is a no-frills place, except the espresso, but perfectly comfortable and clean. I would certainly consider returning.
