  • I lived at Camden Del Mar for 15 months. During this time I did not experience many problems, however, the reason for the two star rating is as follows: Ants- During the summer of 2013 my apartment was invaded with ants. The office told me to go to Home Depot and buy a tube of ant bait. When maintenance came by to see where the ants were coming from he applied the bait that I had bought. Now, if this is something that happens at the complex during the summer shouldn't the complex purchase their own ant bait? Cable- You are stuck purchasing a cable package from them whether you want it or not. Security- One day out of the blue the mailman stopped leaving packages in the mailroom. If you had a package you would receive a note stating "for your convenience your package is in the front office." The reason they did this was because of all the mailroom break ins. Plus, it wasn't very convenient to get ignored in the office while waiting for your package and listening to them schmooze another poor victim into renting an apartment. In addition, I asked that my bottom doorknob be replaced with a deadbolt that I would pay for. Management told me no because they wanted to maintain the aesthetic of the complex. So basically they told me they value looks over safety and security. I feel that Camden Del Mar uses their location in Summerlin to lure people in. Once you are there you see the true colors of the management.
