| - I would like to begin with the positive, the nurse practitioner is lovely.
That being said, I would proceed with caution when considering this provider. I am currently in my third month of pregnancy. I had scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Langer upon notification of pregnancy. I scheduled this appointment at 5 weeks and patiently waited 3 more weeks for my appointment.
I was scheduled to meet with the NP at 1:30 and the doctor at 2 p.m. Upon arrival (15 minutes prior to appointment), I was informed that my 2 p.m. appointment had cancelled. I was then given several stories, the first story was that I had been contacted a week prior to notify me of cancellation (false) and the second story claimed that the doctor had apparently called in sick and cancelled appointments last minute. Needless to say, I was nervous, somewhat overwhelmed, and frustrated.
This is my first pregnancy and I was so worried about the condition of my developing baby. I elected to stay and meet with the NP and have my sonogram. I waited another half an hour for the NP (my appointment was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and I went into the procedure rooms at 2 p.m...I did not actually see the NP until approximately 2:20/2:30).
As stated above, the NP is lovely but that did not even begin to make up for the lack of sensitivity, honestly, and general punctuality. When I called to cancel my upcoming appointments, the billing specialist inquired as to why I was electing to leave the practice. When I informed her of my reasoning, she proceeded to offer me a third rendition of why my doctor did not see me, informing me that my doctor was "delivering a baby and wouldn't you want her to go to deliver your baby when you are in the hospital". I found this response exceptionally condescending and when I explained that that was the third version of an account of the events of that day, she immediately began to backtrack.
