I have been here twice and my first experience was the best! Typically, you should make a reservation before coming here because it gets filled up pretty quickly. I love coming to this restaurant because they provide a good dining experience. The service is great and the ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful as well. It has a hipster, rustic, and natural feel to it. The low lighting adds to it as well.
I was excited to order the bone marrow because we have never had it before. I have always been hesitant to try it but I am glad I ordered it from Meat & Potatoes. These huge pieces of bone marrow come out piping hot and it is served with grilled bread. It is paired with 3 toppings which consists of picked onions, capers, and sea salt. You spread the bone marrow on the bread and place your desired toppings on it and voila, a creamy and divine appetizer is ready! The initial bite will make your taste buds happy, happy, happy! It is so creamy and buttery! The pickled onions provide a nice crunch and tangy flavor to the buttery taste of the bone marrow. I highly recommend ordering this if you are up to being adventurous!
We also ordered the Short Rib Papperdelle, flatbread pizza, and Truffle Mac and Cheese. My favorite thing was by far the Short Rib Papperdelle. The creamy tomato sauce is perfect and the short rib was melt in your mouth. The papperdelle soaks up all of the sauce and tastes incredible! You could probably pass on the flatbread pizza because it wasn't that fantastic. I think they serve the truffle mac and cheese once in awhile because we did not see it on our second visit there. The truffle mac and cheese was phenomenal! It was cheesy and the flavor was heightened by the incredibly taste of truffles!
There are also plenty of cocktails that you can select from on their menu. The bar is gorgeous and you could also dine there as well. I would highly recommend coming here if you are in the downtown area of Pittsburgh!
