  • Slay me bitch. WORK BITCH. (I dedicate my 500th Yelp review to the Princess of Pop) Britney is a legend. An icon. And her Vegas show has given me the opportunity to combine both my love for her and Sin City into one amazing evening. I've seen 'Piece Of Me' twice now, both before and after her recent reboot, and I can say that I continue to love the entire production and would definitely go back to enjoy it again with new people. Let's talk show itself. This is a post-2004 Britney show. She survived 2007. We can cut her some slack on the lipsyncing end, as it is clearly a no brainer at this point. If you go in expecting her to actually sing, then you won't have a good time. However, if you attend to be surrounded by other Britney fans and want to be entertained by one of the most iconic recording artists of our generation, then this is it! The setlist is much more focused on her older material than her latest fare (Britney Jean who?), which will warm the nostalgic fans inside if they weren't already hot and heavy from sippin' on martinis. You'll get the classics- remixed into a bass heavy selection that is going to demand you to shake that thang, and make that girl (or boy) want you. With a setlist of over 20 tracks, you're going to experience her career from the beginning innocent days, to the sexy Mama that she continues to be today. My only gripe is that she doesn't at least re-record her older hits. I would love to hear her older voice tackle some of the classics that made her into a megastar. Now, that doesn't make it a dull show for those that aren't the biggest members of the Britney Army. Partners and friends will still enjoy the theatrics the show throws out, with each of the seven acts reminding them that they do in fact know the words to a Britney song or two. The music will get you dancing, and with a limited number of ballads, they'll have a good time. Britney can still dance. She may not be as nimble as she was In The Zone 2004, but she can still deliver some great moves. She along with her talented dancers and production crew really produce a fantastic show, and it is hard to admire the work that was put into making it a reality. The Axis Theater itself is small, but seats closer to the front will definitely be more fruitful. Those sitting near the back will still enjoy the show, but with the lack of video screens, you won't be able to see much. If you're in Vegas, try to win big and snag up some floor seats to see the real action. Just like Britney, make sure YOU get to work as well. Knock back a few libations (may I recommend some Fat Tuesdays right outside the Axis Theater?), grab a tall boy inside, and make sure you look hot af to attract those fangirls and fanboys waiting for the slayage. Britney is here to stay, and my body is ready. I just want moarrrrr.
