  • I decided to do this review a bit differently as Phoenix Irrigation is currently installing a complete redesign of my drip system. They weren't the cheapest yet their proposal was competitive. Tom, my initial contact, was the main reason these guys got the job. He knew the most of all the vendors I interviewed. In fact I first discovered him as I bounced around various review sites. At the time he worked for another contractor and got rave reviews from satisfied customers. When I called this vendor I was disappointed because their field guys, although likable and competent, could not answer my technical questions. When Tom did his walk through for the proposal I made the connection to the Yelp review. So my expectations for a well designed, efficient system are high. Day One. No drama. Showed up when they said they would. Had a five man crew who were good workers, pleasant, and professional. Tom was there to kick off the project then left it in the capable hands of crew chief Jose. Trenched the front yard and half of the back. Day Two This crew is all work and no play (even with PM temps approaching 110). Front is all but complete with manifolds and spaghetti lines installed and buried. A few bumps to be handled with entryway pots. PVC was pressure tested before filling the trenches. Back and side yard is trenched. Let's see what tomorrow brings. Day Three Work on back yard continues. The almost complete front yard is being tested with 45 min manual cycle. Only minor problem-solving required so far. Jose & crew just keep on churning. Jose provides good info & tips as I visit. Tom's list had four nuts and bolts issues, two of which had already been handled. Quick walk thru with Tom and my list is at zero. Tom's Engineering background make him uber qualified on the hydrology and he is equally informed about the needs of various plants in a desert biome. Crew worked a 10 hour day. Day Four. Crew is down to three today for the final touches. 900 feet of Schedule 40 PVC, 45 manifolds, hundreds of emitters and tons of know how went into this job. These guys are up to the task. I am a fan.
