| - I scheduled an appointment online for an oil change last week, but when I arrived I was told that their power had gone out the day before. Therefore, there was a huge backlog of cars that had to be fixed at that time. They were very nice about the fact that this was a big inconvenience. We re-scheduled the appointment and said they would do it for free = GREAT! Accountability for my time, even though it's not really their fault that the power happened to go out the day before. Much appreciated.
However, I took the car back in today for the free oil change and after waiting for an hour, I asked them how much longer the wait would be. Turns out, they had misplaced the paperwork for my cars AND my car keys. They were found pretty quickly but wow, what a shock! ...and so now I have another comp card for a free future oil change again. I'm unsure whether or not I will be back to claim it, maybe I will try a different Pepboys location?
Also, I think someone did some bad math for calculating at what mileage I should get my next oil change. The date was right (3 months from now) but supposedly I could drive for 30k miles before my next oil change...
TLDR; First time I went in, they had a huge backlog and offered a free oil change.
Second time I went in, they lost my keys and paperwork temporarily so the oil change took almost 2 hours. Would have been longer if I didn't ask about my car. Got another free comp.
Will there be a 3rd visit? not sure, don't have much confidence now but I do appreciate their accountability.
