| - SlotZIlla is a bad name. I'll say that right now. It's a confusing name. That is the name of a place that has actual slot machines, or a place that has an actual huge slot machine. It is a zip line place.
Where better to have a zipline that over the famous Fremont Street Experience! You zip over hundreds of people, and under the famous screens. We did this during the day, which was still awesome, though it would have been cooler at night, of course, but more expensive. They did not do a very good job honoring our reservation.
Our tickets said 12, which was when they first opened, but they made us wait til almost 12:20 to take us. While we were in line, they tried to have us line up by the wall, which was very far away from where the line was supposed to form. We stayed by the entrance because we felt our spot would be taken by the front. The line ended up being even more disruptive to the flow of traffic than it had been.
Once they took us, however, the experience got much better. They gave us each a bag to put or belongings in, which they strapped to our backs in the harnesses we were fitted into, which was cool.
They awkwardly lined us up to the side, away from the elevator, which was weird, but once we got on the elevator we went straight up to the floor where we zipped from. The trucks they used on the line were even more elaborate and looked even more safe than a very well-respected zipline course in Upstate New York I have been to. They have you walk down stairs and dangle you off the floor once you're harnessed to the zipline, which is a fun way to get the adrenaline going, but lead to the ride being slower.
The ride was slow and controlled, which is good for people who have never been ziplining before. I have, and was a little underwhelmed by the ride itself, but it was a cool location, it's not all about the ride. It felt short, and the slowdown was pretty jerky. I wound up spun around so I couldn't see when we were stopping, so I was jerked around a bit at the end. Wasn't too bad, but they could be a little more helpful with telling you how to brace for the impact
