| - I requested an estimate online. I got a call immediately. I said that I had some reappearing "mystery" stains. I had tried steam cleaning, Oxyclean, every kind of carpet cleaning product on the market. The stains would seem to be completely gone. Then two weeks later, they would be back. The man from Sherman Family Chem Dry said no problem, he's sure he can get them out, let's make an appointment. I replied that I was going out-of-the-country and when I got back, i was unsure of my workload. The guy said "let's set up an appointment and we'll call before to make sure it works for you".
I'm super busy when i get back and I get no call. I just keep plowing through the work. The time for the appointment comes and here's their representative at the door. No call. I hadn't even prepared.
The cleaner hears my woeful stories and pre-treats the rug stains and cleans the two rooms. I said "is there a guarantee? I really tried everything and the stains ALWAYS comes back". The cleaner (who seemed very nice) said he was "I've gone over those stains twice. I'm 99% sure this takes care of it". Then he adds "Look, I know the stains aren't coming back but if by some weird chance they do, call the owner and he will send someone over to get rid of them completely".
Two weeks and the stains are right back the way they were. It was like no one ever came. I didn't need the two rooms cleaned... I had steam cleaned them recently! I call Sherman Family Chem Dry, leave them a voice message and nicely recap the problem, gave the date they came out, my address, my phone number (twice) and ask that they honor what both of them claimed would be the end result. After all, I was TOLD to call if they reappeared. These people didn't even have the DECENCY to call me back. I just should have thrown 89.00 in the wind.
If you want people who with lightning speed, pressure you into making an appointment with them and then disappear after they don't do what they say they are going to accomplish, by all means, take the gamble. Me? I wouldn't let them to clean my front door mat.
