My husband and I had been anxiously awaiting the opening of Midwood Smokehouse in Ballantyne. We went opening weekend and loved it! Attentive service, friendly staff, hot and fresh food - overall a great experience. We have been talking about going back and we're looking forward to making it a regular dining out spot.
Fast forward to today - 4th of July. From the moment outer server came to the table, it was obvious she didn't want to be there. Same went for management, food runners, etc. By the time the meal came my husband and I felt like we didn't want to be there either. Then the food... It was gross. So apprentice the cooks didn't want to be there either. We got a plate with 4 meats... The brisket was dry and lukewarm. The pulled pork was also dry and cold. The ribs were the only thing that came out hot besides the macaroni and cheese. Our server didn't come to check on us, we flagged down a food runner to ask for some hot fries, the second set of fries also came back cold!
It's unfortunate that no one wanted to work today. It has potential, as we loved our first visit. But went downhill quickly. Maybe a hot or miss depending on the day.
