| - For much of my 30+ year career as a Health and Safety professional, I have worked in a petrochemical facility whose hourly workers were represented by a Union. And whether they are part of USW or previously PACE, they are always the Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers (OCAW) to me.
As a member of "Management" and considering the type of work I do, my relationship with my Union colleagues can be complicated, sometimes spirited, and often satisfying. As a result, I firmly believe that without the Union, my Plants would be a much more dangerous place to work. I also know that some things like my health insurance, safe working conditions, and other benefits that I sometimes take for granted were first won at the bargaining table. This is "Trickle Down" economics of the best kind.
