| - Living in the San Gabriel Valley, I have ready access to a ton of delicious Asian food, so I decided to try more European and Western flavors on my weekend getaway in Las Vegas. I told my girlfriend I was in the mood for French cuisine, and she likes restaurants with nice ambiences, so we decided to pick a restaurant with both. Eiffel Tower is a restaurant that requires an elevator ride to get up to.
We were seated at a table that had a clear view of the city, including Bellagio Fountains as well as the lights at The Cosmopolitan. The light show helped set the mood for a very romantic dinner.
Drink wise, I got a virgin pina colada, and my girlfriend got some type of wine. We both loved our drinks. For me, I typically find pina coladas to be too icy and too sweet sometimes - not this time, this pina colada was mostly liquid and also not too sweet.
I was in a mood for beef wellington, which I hadn't had in a while. I ordered that, while my girlfriend got the NY Strip Steak. The restaurant also serves complimentary bread, which was filling but nothing particularly special.
The steaks were the highlight of the meal. I tried some of my girlfriend's strip steak, and it was by far the best steak I've ever had in my life. Granted, I don't eat steak that often, but I've had steak many times in Los Angeles and a handful of times in other places - this steak was very juicy, flavorful, and had a crispy texture on the outside. The beef wellington was also incredibly tasty. Both meats were medium rare, and both of them cut very easily. The wellington was just right, and the puff pastry was incredibly flavorful.
This is a very expensive restaurant, but then again, so are most restaurants in the Strip of Las Vegas. I highly recommend this place as a once in a few years romantic date for someone special.
