  • So my fiancé and I have been looking for a venue for our wedding and we found portico and saw some good reviews online! We inquired and Amy got back to us promptly and politely, she was sweet and very easy to email back and forth with! We set up a time for a tour almost 3 weeks in advance and made arrangements to be there on time and together as we were excited to tour the venue. We were scheduled for a 6oclock tour and to make it down to the location on time my fiancé had to request to leave work early to have enough time to get down to Gilbert from North Scottsdale. The morning of the tour I sent a text to the number Amy provided me to confirm everything and got a quick response saying everything was all set for the evening. It was raining pretty hard for most of the day and to be honest I didn't think twice of it, it's the valley so the rain comes and goes pretty quickly. Then at, 5:15pm, I get a text saying that due to the rain they won't be able to give a tour of their property, that it's all flooded and we'll have to reschedule! I explained that my fiancé had already been driving for half an hour and asked if there was anything that we could see despite the rain. I got the reply: there is too much flooding. Unfortunately we are not able to show our facility tonight. I gave you as much warning as I could. When I told my fiance he was frustrated to say the least. In the end we decided we didn't want to put the best day of our lives in the hands of the people who had to shut down their entire property for flooding and close to NO warning about the cancelation of our appointment. Amy seemed nice but whoever I was texting was short, dismissive and didn't seem to care that we were hugely inconvenienced by their last-minute cancelation and that their property was rendered pointless by a rainy day and wasn't very reassuring for a plan-b for a wedding ceremony. We drove by the property a few days later and found it was really broken down looking, didn't seem to be managed very well and my fiance and I felt as if we'd dodged a bullet in the end.
