I can't believe I've never been to this place before. I love love Scandinavian food and I've had it in other states before when traveling and never thought to seek it out here in Mesa where I've lived for almost 17 years.
The food: It was surprisingly good! My friend had the chicken cordon bleu schnitzel and I had the pierogi meal. It was so incredibly scrumptious and the portions are very hearty. It was just under $60 including a 20% tip for 2 waters 2 hearty meals and a dessert.
The atmosphere: when we showed up the place was half empty and it felt like we were the most alive in there. I was actually worried Bc it was so empty. I think we were the youngest people in this place. Which I suppose is typical for much of AZ. It's not one of those young hipster joints. A family owned business by the nicest people. It was clean and they have cloth napkins for silverware which says upscale but it's very casual.
The staff: They were attentive and made great recommendations on the food. I was super tired and reserved which is abnormal for me but I still felt so welcomed. My friend and I literally camped there for 2 hours just catching up on life.
