  • I had to purchase a gravestone / headstone for my sister's funeral plot and researched, researched, researched because these types of places don't get reviewed to often and there is no way to know the quality of the business your dealing with. I actually looked on yelp, at the time, but there was nothing - which really surprised me. Also, I didn't even know that gravestones were actually called monuments, which made finding a place to purchase one even more difficult. I could have purchased a gravestone directly from the cemetery but it would have been a generic assembly line design gravestone and I wanted something more personalized and pretty. The cemetery will give you specifications and guidelines for your headstone and as long as you follow their guidelines, you can get the headstone from anywhere and can design it how you like - the cemetery that I purchased a plot from required certain dimensions and the gravestone had to have a cross on it among other things. I found this place through an online yellow page website and I drove down there. It's a very mom and pop place. It's a small space and they make headstones - so, yeah - it's not fancy but they are good at what they do - just make sure you have the lady help you!! The lady I dealt with was beyond helpful and nice. She spent a good amount of time working with us and making the gravestone monument just right. She really went above and beyond what she needed to do. She helped us come up with a great layout with etched in designs of small butterflies, hearts, a precious moments praying angel, a really pretty cross, and a mix of script and standard lettering with-in the etched in outline. She was also able to order a small four inch weather proof photo plague of a photo of my sister and her little dog, which she incorporated into the design of the gravestone. It sounds like a lot of things to put onto a gravestone but the different things were small and well placed and fit the size of the grave marker just right. She really helped us to create something beautiful and we love how it turned out and I think my sister would have liked it too. She let me choose the specific stone that the gravestone would be carved out of. They have lots of different colors and stone variations in a big fenced in stone quarry area. So.... when I chose the stone slab I wanted, it was the exact stone that was used to make the gravestone - not some variation of the stone I choose. There was also a guy working there as well, but she was much nicer to work with and went out of her way to help us. I highly suggest that you ask to work with her. The cost to have the gravestone done independently (not through the cemetery) was a little less than what the cemetery was charging for a very basic one. This yelp review is long over due but a good business is a good business and I'm really happy that I was able to find this place.
