  • First time at the "New" location,..could they pick a worse part of town, location is very inconvenient if taking light rail or even hailing cabs and very much in the ghetto...biggest issue: no A/C in the actual venue, sure the lobby in the front is cool, and the bathrooms, but the stage area was about 120 degrees...WTF ! There is one air vent near the elevated area and there was nothing coming out of it... We were there to see PRONG, I wish Tommy would have said something like, "man we used to play shitholes like this back in the 80s.." lol But he is a professional, the band was still great although they looked exhausted half way through their set due to the heat....the sound mix was better than the old location (not that difficult to achieve) and you can have drinks near the stage (unlike the old location), hence at least the 1 star, but drinks were $6 for wells? Also there is some dumb mini-bar area to the right when you walk in, some shitty bands were butchering Priest and Maiden when we walked in, A/C seemed to work in that area...lastly in the old location you could go out on the patio (albeit small) and have a smoke with your drink, the new place you basically sit out front near the door and parking lot, can't bring drinks out...bring back the old venue at least we could walk to it...lol Unfortunately with the Marquee not really doing many real metal shows anymore and the Nile/Pub Rock combo of atrocious venues this will be the future go to place for these type of shows...guess we will just go in the winter from now on....
