| - I had a very bad experience with Progressive Claim Department. This auto insurance has a very weird policy: if there is an incident, even if it is obvious there is no way it may cause bodily injuries, if there is a claim for such, the insurance pays them the minimum liability $700 for bodily injuries even if it is fraud or a lie. Check out very carefully their liability - it literally says "even if it is fraud or a lie".
This happened to me when backing out of a parking space touched another parked car. The police did not give me any tickets, we were asked to exchange insurance info. I reported the incident to the claim department and the associate assured me it was a minor incident of no consequence.
The other car owners were outside of the car, even one of them inside a store. These two people kept screaming at the top of their lungs and acting as if something terrible had happened. They started hitting and kicking my car .
Ordered by the police these two persons were asked to stay inside the car till I took pictures of their bumper, which I sent to my insurance. There were NO damages on the bumper! NO damages!
I stayed in touch with the CD for a while, and I was always assured this was a minor incident. Only three months later I learned quite by chance from another source, my driving record had registered "bodily injury". Calling back the CD, the supervisor told me what their policy was and he added: as ridiculous as it is, we have to pay them, even we know that kind of incident can never cause any sort of injuries, we have to pay them so that they do not pursue other claims and don't sue us".
I tried to fight it as much as I could but Progressive defended this ridiculous policy of theirs and even when they admitted there was no way I could have caused any injuries, they still did not fix my driving record.
This is clearly a policy that invites wrongdoers to have their way and make an easy breezy 700 bucks! Thank God there are plenty of other auto insurances out there!
