  • I really love this place. I'm a big fan of the older, odder, dusty relics of guitar companies gone by...and Heights Guitars is the place you'll find 'em! I haven't been to many guitar shops where you can look on the wall and find vintage Vox, Wurlitzer, Epiphone, Harmony, Broadway, Silvertone, Danelectro, and Kay guitars. Even fewer have them in regularly, and in good shape. And still fewer have the wacky, weird-ass old amps to go with them. They do lose a star because the selection of basses is pretty thin, and doesn't change much. So if you are a bass player exclusively, you'll want to check out the '78 P that was on the wall last time I was there, and maybe give the G&L stuff a few runs, but beyond that you'll lose interest quickly. But for guitars? Oh, don't make any plans. Just expect to kill your afternoon, your ears, and your wallet. Not that their prices are high...just that it's hard to go in there and only find ONE thing that you want.
