Went twice last week and it was my first time to Caswell's. My friend and I are experienced with guns and the guy watching the range didn't bother us. The guy ringing us up was as nice as I would have expected and I like the display area. The staff up front was very nice the second time and the ranger was very kind to show first timers. Haven't had a bad experience with the staff.
As for the price, my buddy and I had already purchased our ammo and own eyewear and ear plugs. The lane rental is a bit more expensive than I would have expected which would make me want to look elsewhere but still pleased with my overall experience.
I think where Caswells went wrong is they offered a Groupon for people who don't have experience and the people working there won't give them a lesson or hold their hand with it. Which they should due to Groupons clientele. Shooting guns for the first time shouldn't be done without instruction. The ranger did help but not after recognizing that they didn't know what they were doing.
