| - I took the WAX to get from the strip back to LAS (I took the Gray Line shuttle from LAS to the strip). It was on-time, the bus itself was clean and comfortable, and it drops you off right by an airport entrance. The main problem is that the closest this bus gets to the strip is the intersection of Tropicana & Las Vegas, which is kinda far south. So the only way to get from mid-strip to this bus is to take the Deuce or SDX and then walk 0.2 miles (maybe 4-5 minutes) to the WAX stop. When it's 100+ degrees outside, this sounds not so great, but it actually turns out to be not so bad because Vegas heat is dry, unlike say, Orlando. Still, it's not ideal -- a shared stop would have been much better.
The only reason I actually tried this route was to utilize the 24-hour all-access bus pass ($7) I already bought the night before to get from Fremont St back to the strip. Otherwise, the savings over an airport shuttle may very well not be worth the added inconvenience of the Deuce/SDX to WAX transfer, especially if you're traveling with whiners.
I might do this again if I buy a bus pass for another reason, but probably not exclusively for going between the airport and the strip (unless the weather isn't terrible).
