I was craving fried chicken and asked the homie Lisa from http://champaign-taste.blogspot.com/ where I should go. She's the expert and her word is gospel. I was told that the main place in Chambana is Seaboat.
Of course, after all that fried chicken talk, I ended up calling ahead and ordering a Seaboat Jr. I probably got there a bit later than I should have, because while the sandwich was delicious it was a bit soggy from sitting a bit too long. My bad. I thought that explained the lettuce too, but other reviewers said that theirs was a bit soggy too, so I'm not sure. I'll have to be a bit more timely! Instead of fries, I got greens. I loved the big pieces of turkey for flavoring but I thought the greens were a little overcooked. That's my personal preference. Most Southern people cook the juice out of their veggies, so it's all good. The flavor was right.
Since it was Pi(e) Day (3/14) I ordered a piece of sweet potato pie. It was really good, delicious with that right hint of spice and a great crust. I'm a crust person and I thought it had good flavor as well. The service was very friendly as well. I want to come back and try the fried chicken!
