| - This is actually a bitter sweet good bye tale. I have been a loyal customer of Subaru since 2010. There is only one dealership in Las Vegas and this is it.
I don't think I ever had an intention of ever buying a Subaru. I was not that educated on Subaru and grew up on Hondas and Toyotas. During the time that Toyota was recalling many cars, I owned one. The day I went into Subaru, I actually had turned in my Toyota to get it serviced. My husband wanted to kill time & for some reason he wanted to go test drive cars. He loves to test drive cars, we used to do it back home, too. IDK why he does, because if I likey, me buyee. That certainly happened when I went to Subaru. Well, he somehow got me to Subaru because he wanted to test drive the STI.
We got there, nicely greeted, and off we went test driving their cars. Low and behold, the newly modeled (at the time) was the Legacy. I only knew of their round super loud WRX and STI's, was not practical for me.
I at the time drove a Camry and was going to lease another, but wasn't really satisfied with the options they were giving me that were NOT standard in the car. Legacy is probably comparable to your Accords and Camrys...but on a whole different level. Better priced, AWD-standard for every Subie, options that you have to upgrade in Honda or Toyota, well, they are pretty standard in a Subie. By the way, I went test driving with my dog. They are family friendly and YES, including your dog. Long story short, that very same day, I ended up leaving my car at Toyota. I did walk away with my first Subaru. When I signed my end paperwork at Toyota, one of the sales guy said, wow, nice car (to my newly bought Subaru). Now what does that tell ya?
Fast forward 3 years...I loved my car so much, that I ended up leasing another Subaru when it was time to lease again. It was the same body style, just a little changes here and there. I was anticipated to lease again from Mark D. I have to tell you he really took care of us. He definitely went above and beyond service and NO not pushy. He knew what we liked and did not pressure us into any sales. He let us breathe and think about what we were purchasing. Second time around, I was not there long at all. When they say hassle free dealing, its true, I walked away stressed free with another Subaru satisfied with an even lower payment then anticipated. I needed an easy button walking away from the experience.
So, back to my bittersweet. Yesterday, I turned in my Ruby Subie. Another 3 years has passed, but now I'm in a different phase in my life. I'm now married and with a growing family. I have thought about the Forester and the Outback as options, but realistically what I wanted for my next car was a 7+ passenger car/SUV. Subaru doesn't have that option, so I had to say goodbye to getting another Subaru.
As I drove my Subaru one last time, I was seriously very sad. These cars have handled my heavy foot and quick, fast turns. Yup, I'm that kind of driver, thats why I loved my Subie.
I pulled into the dealership and of course, I was quickly greeted and taken cared of to turn in my lease. Low and behold, I run into Mark D who very well remembers me and my husband. I gave him the lowdown that Subaru was no longer an option because of my growing family and he understood that. He asked where my husband was and I told him he was waiting in the new car we just bought (Its a Honda Pilot and it wasn't so pleasant purchasing it) with my daughter. Mark went out of his way, brought them water and chatted with him for a bit.
Not only is Mark D awesome, just the whole staff is awesome. I have never had better service from a car dealership than from Subaru Las Vegas. Nothing compares to their cars, sales, service department, & staff. Thanks Subaru for all the great years, hope you build bigger family friendly cars. I will surely trade that option with what I got :) Don't forget to call me when it does!
