| - I got Microblading done with Kenia and waxing with Kimmy. I have not yet met Amy. To start with the waxing, I give 5 stars for Kimmy for her amazing waxing skills and lovely conversation. She detected the status of my skin quickly and adjusted her technique, using the right type of wax for my particular skin. I appreciated that.
Next, my microblading - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Ten stars! I knew I would be a difficult case because I hardly have eyebrow hair to work with at all. Kenia expertly did my brows and although I was so worried about how they would turn out, she took great care in working with me to make it right, she's a perfectionist. I fought her a lot on the shaping and she obliged as much as she could without bending the face mapping rules, but she knows what's she's talking about due to her not one but two certifications in microblading, and it turned out FABULOUS.
I am so glad I went for it. It's an investment and a huge time saver everyday. If I want them to look even more striking like when I wear my glasses, or wear more eye makeup for a special night, I will fill them in and it's so much fun. It doesn't look so obvious and painted as it did before the microblading, and I never thought I could pull off dark strong brows because of that. I have been used to my blonde sparse brows for so long.
I always heard that brows frame a face but I had felt this was an exaggeration for marketing or something - but it's 100% true. My face is different, I actually look different, it brings out my eyes, makes my eye colour pop and makes all my other features better. My look has improved. The change I feel is so drastic but natural that it's like I got the best plastic surgery, that's how much actual CHANGE in my face I see, just from the new framing due to the eyebrows. Bonus is that this will last up to 3 years so I can change it next time, go darker, and place them higher when my face sags. Cannot do that with permanent ones.
So I am now a huge believer that yes eyebrows are the frame. You'd never ever see any artwork of value without a beautiful frame to complement it right? A beautiful painting isn't the same without a frame. Same with the face. Also my husband LOVES them, always says, wow you have eyebrows when you wake up now!
Only thing I would say is it did hurt a bit more than expected, and I should have taken another Tylenol, probably didn't take enough :( Depending on your methylation (look it up) and pain tolerance you may need to adjust your pain relief. She will use a freezing agent though but I recommend taking Tylenol beforehand, don't go before your monthly, and don't have alcohol close to the appointment and follow all the instructions. My mistake was going to close to my monthly and not taking enough Tylenol, I do not drink at all.
