| - My girlfriend and I needed to replace her kitchen flooring and cabinetry after a pipe leak. We figured Home Depot would be a good bet because they're a large chain and they would probably do a professional job. Nothing could be further from the truth. The entire experience was nothing but incompetency after apathy, after lack of follow-up, after misinformation, after more incompetency.
It was pretty mind blowing, to be perfectly honest. It was almost as if every opportunity they had to fail, they meeted and greeted with open arms. Carol Fifi was the worst, and eventually we had to try to switch to someone who actually knew what they were doing and cared, although that didn't really happen either. Ask around, talk to friends, look up local contractors who are solid and dependable and competent who will do a good job and return your phone calls. if you need a hammer or a tape measure, by all means this could do the trick. But in terms of any home repair, avoid them at all costs.
