this review is really for head office - all shoppers 'drug' marts have the same problem and issue for me and i bet thousands of others.
my beef is the set up. as if we were cattle sdm designs it's stores so that customers are channeled and FORCED to walk through huge perfume and cosmetic areas.
it seems that a certain segment of the population when forced through this area become mindless captives to the scents and goops on offer.
a smaller group -- me and anyone that despises overbearing scents -- have to hold our breath. that doesn't stop the eye watering or the awful taste on the back of your tongue if you catch a breath.
i complain to the 'health' care professionals in the pharmacy area [notice if you will the 'drug mart' portion of the store is a fraction of cosmetics] every visit. If you cared about all your clients health you would offer more 'accessibility' - nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
and there is a cost - i used to be in a shoppers 3-4 times a week. now maybe 3-4 times a year because my wife has some prescriptions there.
it would be so simple to allow people the option to enter the other entryway but shoppers no longer sees their customers as people but more like monied animals to be manipulated through their base olfactory sense.
change your name to be true to your corporate mandate: shoppers perfume and cosmetics mart.
