I stumbled upon Artistic Aquariums while trying to find a 24" wide tank. Almost pulled the trigger on a 125 they had on a package deal but held out for the wider tank.
I found the tank of my dreams on Craigslist.
Artistic educated me on setup. I should mention: I had very little idea how to set it up. I've never had a tank with overflows and sump.
Everyone there was very helpful. Paul really wanted to help me get setup properly and was very patient, explaining why a closed and open system operating concurrently is not a good idea.
I walked out with everything needed. A few days later I came back for the bacteria starter and fish to start the cycle.
I had always cycled a tank the old fashioned way. I.e. put in bacteria starter, add a fish or two, daily water changes, etc. This instant start is great. My "parakeet" fish were alive and happy, my water parameters were fine.
Out came the high fin Plattys and in went the Mbuna. The tank is doing great. I will be adding Mbuna, trying to get more colors without adding to the aggression.
I believe in patronizing establishments that will give advice and work with me in areas where I need help.
Also, my Rottie puppy was welcomed with open arms. She loves it there. My only concern is her not wanting to come home with me with all the attention and loving she gets there.
Thank you to all at Artistic Aquariums.
