| - My friends and I stayed here when we visited Vegas earlier this year. We had booked our rooms through Hotwire, because somehow RF was able to figure out before the booking that he got this hotel. Pretty brilliant. You can do valet parking or self parking, so we chose the latter.
Because the reservation was under my name, my friends were unable to check in until I arrived... and I happened to be the last one to arrive. Because we checked in so late, we were told that they did not have rooms for us available at the Palazzo so we would be placed at the Venetian instead. We ended up having to ask for the manager, and she was able to find us rooms in the Palazzo after we told her we were fine having the two rooms be apart from each other. They actually had to upgrade one of our rooms to make this possible, which was nice of them. But later I found out they charged me for the upgrade, so we had to have another discussion with the front desk to have the charges removed.
Apart from those hiccups, however, we had a great stay at this hotel. I never visited the other room, but we were in a suite on the 34th floor that had a great view. The room was really spacious, with a queen bed as well as a pull-out sofa bed. We were able to comfortably fit four people in the room and I thought it was really nice. We lounged by the pool one day--they have several pools, with the main large one being really crowded. A couple of us were able to find seats by the main pool but the rest of our group went to one of the smaller pools to relax in peace. Apart from the pool we didn't use any of the other amenities here, but everything looked nice.
It is convenient being connected to the Venetian, although some of the places that we wanted to go to were a bit of a walk from us. But we could use the exercise since we spent our entire Vegas stay stuffing our faces full of carbs :P 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for this review.
