  • I sent my two teen daughters to each get a trim of their long hair. Nothing fancy. Sadly, I was being cheap by not sending them to my stylist. But it was just a trim of dead ends and I thought they would be fine. I thought wrong and I regret it. The 18 year old's hair is completely uneven across her back. The 15 year old's hair is also uneven from front to back. So strange. My biggest complaint is how the stylist who cut the 15 year old's hair continually harped on her for waiting so long to have her hair cut due to the damage she said she had. Over and over. If she had been an adult, she could have said, "Okay I get it, I have damaged ends. Next." But it's more difficult for a teen to find the balance between shutting down an adult while maintaining due respect. I guess I should have gone to protect my child from such unnecessary badgering. Why is it such a big deal to have split ends? I guess I need to transition to helicopter mom? Sigh. Off to pay quite a bit more money to fix the trims... Lesson learned.
