Jerry's is an oasis of fine food ( by which I mean good regular high quality food, not that poncified $8/ mushroom stuff) in an otherwise barren land.
I live a little south in little India and am happy that on any given day I can eat fresh rambutan and chumchum but by gum, sometimes you need a little red meat and a bit of pasta, and Jerry's is where I go for that.
They also have a pretty decent selection of whole grains if you've got someone coming over who can't tolerate wheat or oats or other standard grainy fare. The veggies are also good but a bit pricey - I head to the veggie store kitty corner to jerry's for that stuff.
The butchers are friendly and informed and pleasant.
