This was my 3rd or 4th visit. I've had a couple of good experiences in the past, but this night was the exception. As much as I enjoyed the food, the service was so-so. Our waitress was very sweet, but not very attentive. And we were NOT a high maintenance crowd? It took SO long just to get our water glasses after being seated. Then we didn't see our server for the longest time and wanted to start quickly with appetizers for those of us who were hungry. When I asked another waitress if we could order appetizers, she was seemed a bit bothered and said she would get my server. A simple "Yes! I would be happy to find your server and she will be right with you" would have been nice. One of us ordered a glass wine as we were eating our appetizers. The wine did not arrive until he was halfway through his dinner. We had to ask where it was! How long does it take to bring one wine glass? Then the birthday boy requested a custom dessert....simply, vanilla ice cream with whipped cream on top, drizzled with chocolate sauce. The waitress went to check and said they ran out of ice cream and didn't have any whipping cream. (I'm sure he would have been happy with just the ice cream and chocolate sauce. Guess the kitchen couldn't handle that) She suggested we walk across the grass area to get ice cream at the gelato counter. Hmmmm, guess it was too much bother for our server to get more ice cream across the way. As we were getting ready to leave, someone asked for a container for 1/2 the ribs he didn't eat. She brought a container that barely fit one rib! And then she disappeared so we decided to find a suitable container ourselves. Again, a very sweet person, but she and the other young female server I mentioned need some training in timing and checking back with us more frequently. If we decide to return I hope the service improves. There's nothing more annoying than trying to enjoy a birthday celebration with friends and having to search for your server.
