| - I recently joined Class Pass to help branch out on my workout routine. I've taken barre classes at a different studio, but was looking forward to trying somewhere new because I know barre classes can really vary by studio and by instructor.
I was a little frazzled trying to find this location because it's tucked off of Rea Road, so let me spare you from doing laps trying to find it. It is off Williams Pond and Rea in the same plaza as Bradshaw Social House, Famous Toastery, and Lure. I ended up needing to call for directions because my GPS was way off, and when I finally made it there, I heard the receptionist giving another person directions over the phone, so apparently I am not the only person to have trouble finding it.
It seemed that the class I took was full of regulars because the instructor, Leezah, knew most of her students by name and it seemed the majority of the other students anticipated the moves. However, because I was new to the class, it was sometimes hard for me to keep up with the quick pace of instruction. There were several times when I had to watch the other people in the class before trying to follow along because Leezah often talked through her instructions while walking around the room to check on her students' forms rather than consistently demonstrating the moves first. Leezah, was very friendly and helped give me corrections when needed, but I did feel a little lost at times.
Was it an overall great workout? Absolutely. I know the classes are offered for all levels, but it might be helpful to offer a basics class for those who are new to Pure Barre and need perhaps slower pacing to master the moves.
