| - Terrible experience. We booked through Expedia. When we showed up for our confirmed date, they didn't have us in the system and told us we had been a no-show a month prior (on the date we booked through Expedia, apparently). They told us they couldn't do anything about it and we had to call Expedia, which we did. Expedia worked to solve the problem, but the front desk clerk was extremely rude throughout the process. She kept waving paper in our face saying "Expedia sent us THIS and they were supposed to send us THIS!" Um, okay, but that's not my problem and I had no control over that. It became apparent that someone at the hotel had manually entered our stay incorrectly.
In any other situation, given that hotels are a service industry, I would expect that the hotel would work to resolve the situation with a satisfactory outcome. But the front desk clerk refused and kept requesting us to call Expedia, which we did, three times.
We begged and pleaded with Expedia to allow us to cancel so we could find somewhere else that cared about customer service, but unfortunately the deal had already been made and we couldn't cancel without losing the money we paid.
Finally, after three calls to Expedia and snarky conversation with the front desk clerk who seemed completely uninterested in helping us resolve the situation, we were given a room which smelled heavily of cigarettes. We requested a new room and were given one, and it was satisfactory.
This place was just gross. I checked for bedbugs first given the conditions of the overall hotel (crumbs on the floor, broken fixtures and walls).
I can't believe they had the nerve to be so rude to us for something completely out of our control that had to do with their manual entry error. Never again.
