we made a reservation for two to sit on the patio a month in advance to eat after we were married. arrived on time for the reservation and waited for 25 minutes only to be shown a table inside. we refused and were sat on the patio next to the doors that people enter and exit from, with a pretty poor view of the fountains. during dinner we watched two very casually dressed and not obviously "just married" pairs be moved to tables along the rails with unobstructed views.
the menu is tiny and unimpressive. we paid $98 for an appetizer, a flatbread and one entree. the risotto was crunchy. we drank buckets of ice water because it was unbearably hot. not a fan in sight.
our waiters were nice and efficient and helped us take a few pictures near the rail instead of having to purchase the ones the photographer is hawking, which i may have considered if we weren't sitting with a view of the waiters station behind us.
the hostess said congratulations when we checked in, but not one other person we encountered even mentioned it. not a glass of champagne, not a stale cookie sent to us, not even a simple acknowledgement that it was a special night for us. i don't look for freebies, but when i plan a dinner at a pricey restaurant for an extremely important occasion, i guess i hoped for a little bit of celebration or an extra smile from the staff. or maybe to honor my reservation request and not sit us at the worst table.
2 stars because it is pretty and romantic and a lot of fun when the fountain show starts, if you can see it.
