| - I've been staying at this location for an annual event for years and the service had been pretty nice until this year. Last year, when we arrived, we'd discovered that they had switched the coffee makers in the rooms to kurig(sp?) which bummed us out because we'd packed our own coffee grounds to make our own coffee because we come for a rigorous dance workshop and have morning classes, but when I'd mentioned it to the front desk, they offered to get one of the old ones out of storage and send it to our room. Really nice, right? They were really proactive to satisfy us and it was unexpectedly nice. Well, this year, I feel like I was treated like a fussy guest when I asked if they still had those coffee makers in storage and they refused to follow through and find out. They transferred me once to housekeeping the first time I inquired. Housekeeping didn't pick up and I left a message. They never got back to me. All in all, I reached out 4 times and was ignored each time. I emailed a week before our stay. I called the day before. I used the chat interface on the website. And I asked at the front desk. Despite getting the run around, I was polite each time.
The thing that gets me is, I would have been fine if they had told me they didn't have any of the old coffee makers in storage anymore. I would have been like "ok, oh well, thanks anyway", but instead I felt like I was being ignored and was made to feel as if I was making some ridiculous request.
The rooms are decent, if a bit drab and the cleaning is decent, but I feel like a hotel is only as good as their service. I expect the people at the front desk to make an effort to solve little problems like this and this hotel definitely did not make me feel like they cared about my experience here, hence my 2 star review.
