  • I have never been so deceived and disappointed. Passion 8 claimed to participate in the Queen's feast menu during Charlotte restaurant week. To meet the $30 menu standard, they did the following: 1. cut portion size to at best appetizer 2. increased the corkage fee for the week to $30 and 3. said they were not offering bread with that menu. Having dined there a number of times and with other Queen's feast menus at other venues, I have always come out with a fair, good meal with no 'reduction of service or quality'. But Passion 8 cut every corner and in the end, we overpaid for what we got. We should have gotten the message when the waiter tried to upsell appetizers before we started the menu and when we said no, the look we got was questioning. And upping the corkage just for the week? Sad. Very disappointing for a quality establishment to deceive and cheat their clients. On the good side as always, the quality of the food was excellent--there was just to little to enjoy. P8 should just not participate in the restaurant week rather than not meet the spirit of the event.
