| - FUN local place with impeccably fresh and authentic tastes of Greece.
Order at the counter, and be prepared to do as the locals do: when the restaurant is full get your food to go or ask to share a table.
The line to order can stretch out the door, but moves quickly and efficiently. Lots of cooks in the kitchen on a Friday night -- we saw 6 -- cooking as fast as they could in a kitchen we could see was stocked with authentic quality ingredients.
Kids meals re the perfect side for smaller tummies but don't dumb down for Americans: choices are 1/2 gyros, 1/2 souvlakis and other smaller portions of Greek favourites -- no chicken nuggets or grilled cheeses. TWO THUMBS UP FROM US!!
One of us had the beef souvlaki and asked that the steak be cooked rare, and IT WAS!! So many Greek places seem to be unable to cook steak rarer than medium, so we were excited! The steak was tender, deliciously seaoned, and did we say RARE??
The cup of Avgolemono soup comes studded with rice and chicken, served with a quartered pita on the side. It is easily enough for a light meal, and was so delicious we took what we couldn't finish back to the hotel to finish with breakfast tomorrow.
A side of falafel arrived fried perfectly, not greasy at all, and spiked with cardamom for extra YUM.
Two of us got the Great Greek Original Rode Bowls -- large Greek salads with a scoop of yummy rice pilaf. These salads were made with perfectly crisp fresh leaf lettuce, seasoned chickpeas, small diced red onions, tangy pitted Kalamata olives, and a meat (chicken or beef souvlaki or gyro meat) or fish of your choice (salmon or shrimp) or falafel, all dressed in tangy and lemony Greek dressing. DELICIOUS!!
We got an order of fresh homemade Koftiedes cookies to go.
We HEARTILY RECOMMEND this restaurant -- Henderson locals have a gem in this place!!
