I have to agree with a previous poster that the office staff is rude and unpleasant. But I will add they are also condescending and incompetent. I am a veteran referred here by TriWest (the VA's outside insurance arm). At the check-in, first they actually destroyed my drivers license while scanning it. Then they had no clue what TriWest was or the VA. When I showed them the referral letter, they had to have a conference to decide if I was trying to rip them off or something. I finally got past the front office and had to wait approximately 45 minutes past my appointment time to even start with the technician. This was in addition to me being 15 minutes early. While the technician was professional, cold and indifferent would also apply. While waiting to see the actual doctor after the technician, I witnessed another patient attempt to order contacts at the end of his exam. Again, the office staff displayed their utter lack of competence or customer service skills. The first one could only tell this gentleman that he had a positive balance but not how much, so she didn't know what to charge him for the contacts. A second front office staff person comes over and the two of them together still can't figure it out. Then the office manager comes over and starts to berate the other two before even she can't figure out this patient's account balance. All of this was conducted at a volume level that every person waiting in the lobby heard it and his business. Can we say HIPAA violations? The doctor herself was nice but seemed aghast at the staff behavior I related and acted as if I was making it all up. After I contacted the VA they referred me to a different doctor for further care. The VA/TriWest are also reviewing this office for removal from the VA referral list. AVOID this practice at all costs!
