For the most part the ice cream was good albeit pricey; in reality you're paying for the ice cream making process. I'm rating this pretty low for the following:
- long wait for ice cream, especially at a busy time. My girlfriend and I went in at 9:30 pm and didn't get our ice cream 50 minutes later, around 10:13 when they closed; to add to the fire, four customers behind us got their orders before us. It would be nice to have some sort of notice at the front to let customers in a time crunch know the process may take a while.
- confusing customization process. Being new to the concept, we were overwhelmed by the 5 TV screens each with an essay on how to make a scoop of ice cream. Keep it simple.
- no way of knowing when your ice cream is ready. The employee at the pick up counter was just yelling out names on the receipts. Why use names when they give you a CUSTOMER NUMBER? Plus they don't use a PA system and just shout over 30 customers, music, and loud nitrogen machinery. How about installing a monitor that displays the customer number?
In reality I would've rated this with 3 stars, but what really pushed me over was how rude one employee was. About 30 minutes into our wait, the crowd died down a bit so my girlfriend approached the pick up counter. She asked if our order was being made since it's been a half hour and the employee told us "it's coming. It takes a while because we're understaffed" in a blunt and rude tone. I've worked in a restaurant before and I can understand frustration with being overwhelmed by tons of customers, but it's no excuse to being rude with them because of the pressure. Next time check the attitude before serving your customers.
