| - This review is not about the car wash itself, but the ownership and its fraudulent practices. Last year, around June of 2016 I signed up for the monthly membership at $29.99 because I worked at the airport in Deer Valley and passed this location everyday. A month or so went by and I transferred jobs, thus changing my route and I found myself never using the car wash anymore. I called the number on the original contract receipt I received and cancelled the account, or so I thought.
This particular credit card is paid monthly via an auto draft payment and therefore, admittedly I don't check it very often. About 6 or 7 months later, I was getting ready for tax season and I noticed that I was getting charged $29.99 each month since I had canceled, this now being February 2017. After seeing this I was confused as it should have been canceled the whole time. About a week goes by and its nearing the end of February so I decide I need to stop in and get this taken care of.
When I went and spoke to the young man that was "in charge" that day, he looked at all my statements, verified that I hadn't used the service single time during that period. After some quick calculations, he refunded my $270.91. I was told the service was cancelled and I left feeling like a customer that was properly taken care of, happy to one day use the service again.
Jump forward to present day and low and behold, in preparation for another year end tax season, I notice that I have been getting charged each month since February, in fact, the very day they refunded the money they sent another charge to my account. Keep in mind, I have now "canceled" twice. This time however, I went in almost immediately and spoke with the manager, who's name was Maricio if memory serves. He was a very nice man that took the time to hear me out and looked up my account, again showing that I hadn't used the service and that I didn't even own the truck that was on the account, therefore making it very difficult to use the tag they affix to your vehicle. The tag breaks apart if you attempt to remove it, much like transponder tags to get into private communities and the like.
Anyway, the manager assured me he would take it up with the owner and try to get a resolution to this problem, once again. Through the investigation with Maricio, we did realize that the first refund was actually to much, by about $60 or two months of service. Since I had been charged the last 9 months, I agreed to settle for only 7 months refund as I am not trying to steal or get something for free, I just want to be refunded for the service I have now tried to cancel two times.
A couple of days go by and he gives me a call letting me know that he spoke with the owner and he doesn't want to refund me the money owed. This shows you the class the owner has, not even bothering to deliver the message themselves. In addition, it shows the class and character of the person that makes the decisions around that business. What would happen if they damage your vehicle? Are they not going to "feel" like to doing the right thing?
This could have all been resolved if they would have just canceled it the first time, or the second or at the very least, settle up the account and make things right. I will advise everyone I can that this business should be avoided at all cost as they simply can't be trusted with your credit card information. I didn't use the service a single time during this period and they have the records to prove it. In addition, I sold the vehicle that was attached to the tag they give you last year, again, something that can be proven thus proving I couldn't have used the service.
Be careful who you trust out there and avoid Hog Wash Express on Cave Creek road.
