| - It was my first time trying this place because I saw the reviews were pretty good. After my experience there, I will never go again. My hairstylist was Jamie (who was pretty friendly) and I asked her to dye my hair from light brown back to black.
Firstly, I feel like because I had a groupon, the service was not as great. I say this because after Jamie applied the black dye to my hair, I felt my towel/plastic robe loosening up. After she left, my robe was already almost completely off and I had to hold it with my hand to prevent the black hair dye from getting on to my clothes. I tried to get someones attention but everyone was either with a customer or watching tv. Finally when I got a guy's attention, he helped me to redo my robe HALFWAY. Like, why half way?? It'll only take you a minute. He then asked Jamie to redo it properly after I've been holding it for 20 minutes.
This isn't even the worst part.
When we get to the hair rinsing part, Jamie scrubbed my head so hard. I've never gone to a salon where a relaxing hair wash became so stressful, not to mention the pain I felt when she tugged at my hair. When she dried my hair, she reused the same towels that was used for the hair dye which caused it to get all over the sides of my neck and ear.
Wait, theres more.
Final stages of the hair process, I asked her to style my hair WAVEY and absolutely NO CURLS because I am going to an event and I hate curls. After telling her this at least 3 times, she gives me the biggest curls I've ever had in my life. When I said I do not like it, she told me it will loosen as the day went by. It did not loosen even after sleeping on it.
THIS IS THE WORST PART...
After I went home and looked at my hair under sun light, the top left half of my head still tinted brown. This wouldn't be so bad if the REST OF MY HEAD WASN'T UNNATURALLY PITCH BLACK. It isn't even the same shade. To top it all off, my hair is so unnaturally black, the color is still rubbing off onto my white pillow case. A little warning from them would have been nice.
I didn't want to write this review because no one is perfect, but things just kept getting worse and worse. She seemed like a nice person and I still tipped her generously because I didn't want to ruin the image for other groupon users but now I wish I did not.
TL;DR Went to d2e, hair came out two different shades of brown black and unnaturally pitch dark black. Stylist did not listen to my request for no curls and gave me huge curls anyways. Even after many washes, the color is still rubbing off onto my pillow making my pillowcases grey, a little warning or tip to prevent this would have been nice.
Edit: after a few weeks, the brown patches are very noticeable. :(
