  • We had a great time and spent a little more than 3 hours inside. It was not crowded, and we didn't read every single bit of information, but we did see everything. In the Great Hall, you can take your own pictures, but if you want the docent to take a photo, you will have to pay for it from the store. It is worth the $10 to get the lighting just right. You will get a few prints for that and then can download the photo online later. Visiting with the Stanley Cup in the Great Hall is a moving experience. It's like walking into a church. The Cup on display is not the "traveling Cup" that you see the player's raise or visit different events. Note that there are no spelling mistakes on the Cup in the Great Hall. However, it is a legitimate stand-in. If anything were to happen to the traveling Cup, this one is ready to take its place! The interactive games where you can shoot or try to stop pucks are a lot of fun and worth waiting in line, if you have to. Even if you aren't a big hockey fan, this is a well laid out and very colorful museum. They have so many jerseys and old equipment and artifacts. It's a shame there isn't more about the beginnings of hockey, but part of that is because the origins are a little unknown. The only thing we didn't do was the 3D movie thing. I can't speak to that.
