  • Yes they remodeled but this still has the feel of the older place, Imperial Palace that it was before. Good value still. I would overall recommend this hotel if you get a room for the right price. Super location near all the action. Lots of fun and the hotel is bright and more fun looking than before. After the remodel the same horrible maze like floor plan is still in place as are the seemingly scarce elevators. They did revamp everything and as far as I can tell - what needed upgrading the most - the elevators - got some improvements. I remember back in the day the elevators were so slow that they required planning an extra 30 minutes to get one that wasn't full. Leave extra time especially if you are checking out on January first like I have done before. They are faster now... still could use a few more of them tho. A tip would be to push the up button if you are leaving your room Sunday 10 minutes before check out. Another tip is: don't count on using the stairs. Years ago I've gone all the way down to the bottom and I remember not being able to get out. I had to re-enter one of the hotel floors and still use an elevator. Seems like such a safety hazard - I sure hope they fixed this. I have not checked for the record... just be warned that elevators are probably the weak point of staying at this place during a popular weekend.
