Meh - I have never stayed in Excalibur - mostly bc it looks old and dingy... the outside adds to the charm of the Las Vegas strip and the view but I'm one of those people who is glad it's there so I can see the charming castle from the outside at night - but doesn't want to contribute to it continuing to function bc it's smokey and old.
I walked through it years ago with my ex-husband on our first trip and walked through it again to get back to our hotel after we watched the Thunder From Down Under show here.... the show was fun - full of screaming drunk women (I don't drink) and lots of man ass (toned man ass) so that was a perk - but the hotel itself is very smokey inside - probably has older ventilation than some of the newer hotels or something but it's really bad. As a non-smoker (I know I know it's Vegas but I have my preferences) I prefer to visit the hotels with high ceilings and better ventilation in the casino like Mandalay Bay or The Bellagio.
I did also attend their nightly jousting show with my ex-husband years ago and found it to be fun - but he did get the shits right after - so take that for what it's worth too....
