If you plan to get Cox service, DO NOT DO IT! They are there to take your money. Unless you plan to get their TV service, be prepared to pay a lot for internet if you plan to stream TV.
I went to one of the cox communication store in Chandler and spoke to Customer service since calling them was a total waste of time. I wish I could put no star as this company does not care about current customers and their needs.
First of all, I am sure everyone is aware of the emails and snail mail regarding the DATA CAP. Not very happy about that. Why the data caps? Wireless are going unlimited and you CORDED fools will start to limit customers. You are not SRP or city water that needs to meter usage. You are running data back and forth through your system that's all. I don't get it. You want to rob people of more money! They say I am the RARE 2% of the customer that goes over. I think it is more than that. We are all aware that since a lot of people now are cord cutters (because they keep raising basic tv every year for a few channels so I canceled that a few months ago) and now they are penalizing customers who stream tv like Netflix, Hulu, HBO now, etc. Well, I have 5 adults and 2 children living at home. All of us stream tv and 2 boys are gamers. I recently upgraded my modem to the fastest available two months ago to meet our needs. Now they put a data cap.
Went to the store and told customer service I would like to return the modem and get a refund. They said they can only do a refund for 30 days. I just got an email that said that I will be charged for going over the data cap so having the fastest internet will not work for me. The MANAGER (sounds like a car salesman fast talker) said that if I want a refund, I have to cancel service. That is what I am doing today. Canceling service with COX. I hope more people CANCEL their COX SERVICE. This is a terrible idea.
Have you noticed Cox has been advertising A LOT lately? I mean a lot!
