| - I got here at 11:15am from Benson. I had an internet printed ticket that I gave to the bus driver. When I arrived here, I asked him if I needed to get the ticket back so I may go on the connecting bus to the Glendale/27th Ave stop. He said no I don't really need it since I was staying in Phoenix. I asked him which door would I be waiting at. He said at door 3, which I later learned that goes to Las Vegas (through Flagstaff and Kingman). I waited there about 2 hours for the bus to roll in. The bus was an hour late, not only that bus but other lines were also about an hour late. What the hell???
When I got a chance to talk to the bus driver collecting tickets and the baggage handlers, they said that they're not going to Glendale/27th Ave. I told them that the bus driver from Benson took my ticket and when I arrived didn't give it back to me. They told me to talk to the ticket information desk and speak to a supervisor. That was about 1:15-1:20pm
When I got there, I spoke to a lady that was giving me a little hard time. She wanted to see my ticket, but I told her that the bus driver took it back in Benson and didn't give it back to me when I stopped in Phoenix. I explained that to her 3 times and she said that we were going in circles. I wasn't, but she was. Then she called over her supervisor. The supervisor told me that because of Line 3 being late, that bus wasn't going to Glendale/27th, but the bus that was going there was Line 7 (which goes to Albuquerque). I told her that I didn't hear anything about that on the intercom. She was able to look up my ticket information and got me a cab to take to the drop of point at Glendale/27th. I was in the cab and gone by about 2pm. Good thing that the cab ride was free and nothing out-of-pocket for me.
Could have I gotten bus from ValleyMetro? Yes, but the ticket was to Glendale/27th and they needed to honor that. Plus Glendale/27th is not far from my place and I would rather take a short bus ride, rather than take a long ride and get home even later.
Because of this experience, I won't take Greyhound again. I'll find a away back to Phoenix next time I make this trip.
