Oh, what a letdown. And after I've been telling people how the stuff here is pretty good based on two visits over a year ago. Now that I work down in the financial district, I finally made my way to Petite Thuet for a morning croissant since I was early for work.
Popping in at 8:30am, I'd expect fresh croissants from a real bakery. I saw the pile of croissants they had on top of the glass counter, where they usually have their croissants and figured that they were put there this morning. Paid my $2.50 and took my croissant to go. After my first bite, I knew I wouldn't be finishing this croissant.
Three strikes:
1 - it was cold inside and out. How do you get a cold croissant first thing in the morning??
2 - the outside wasn't crispy in the least, it reminded me of grocery store croissants.
3 - service was cold to match my croissant.
Petite Thuet is officially off my to-go list!
