Overall, a 3.5 star experience. The antique décor and worn, warm wood interior are nice, but the really charm is the large outdoor beer garden. Lots of little nooks of cozy outdoor spaces. It is like hanging out in a friend backyard (in a good way). Good music selection as well when we visited.
We tried all 5 of the house beers. While none of the styles represented are my personal favorites, they were all well executed. I find it preferable to have a shorter list of solid beers than 10-12 beers that are all mediocre. Surprisingly, the Duck Island amber ale was my favorite and I would order it again. It was more balanced than the description suggested. The black IPA and Dubbel had some clever flavorings as well. The have a small selection of bottle craft beers and a couple guest taps as well.
It is a little hard to find, but worth a visit during the warmer months.
