| - I cannot believe how non-customer oriented this company is. I saw the Chandler office for several years and we now have a billing issue. I contacted the Chandler office at least 4 times to get this fixed and they do not want to deal with it. When I got a notice of collection from Spectrum, I called to explain the situation to the 'main' billing office, Susie, she was absolutely rude. No, it's not a matter of not paying the bill and being irresponsible. It's a matter of the wrong code to the insurance company. Today, Susie said 'Well, this is the first time you've called about it.' It turns out that no one ever noted in their system that I had called about this 4 times before this! Susie was absolutely rude. I can understand their concern, thinking perhaps I am a slouch and not into bill paying, but shouldn't they listen before they accuse? Shouldn't they at least look into it? Is it my fault the Chandler office never made a note about my contacting them? And now you cannot even contact them. Everything goes thru the 'main' office and when they put try to transfer you to the Chandler office there is no answer. The mailbox is full and has been for several days. During the appointment for this issue that is being incorrectly coded, the doctor's diagnosis was age-related hair loss. I was told to simply 'get a good hairstylist'. Well, it turns out I went to another dermatologist and I had a bona fide medical issue that required treatments and a prescription. It is not age-related hair loss, but a disease that needed attention. And they booked it as hair loss so my insurance will not pay. I have given them the medical records from the other doctor I saw to prove to them they were wrong. Of course, according to them, I'm still in the wrong, not them. And again, without even discussing it or wanting to know details.
You enjoy waiting a long time to see your doctor? How about double booking? On one visit I waited over an hour for my appointment and there were no emergencies. Just plain overbooked. I looked at the log sheet and there were 4 appointments booked for every hour for the physician I was seeing. And they were an hour behind. And I was the first appointment of the day. How can that be?? Most visits are at least a half hour wait.
And really, get this. When Spectrum bought the practice, they wanted everyone who were patients to have a credit card on file in order to get an appointment. I was initially told unless I did this, I could not see my doctor. This billing issue is exactly why you shouldn't do this. Not to mention that it's a ridiculous practice.
I will not be going back to this office. Unfortunately for them, neither will most of the 8 people I referred to them. We are all actively looking for another dermatologist in the Chandler area who is not related to Spectrum Dermatology.
