My first time attending this night market and it is likely my last. Everything is overpriced for its value.
I tried the squid on the stick ($10 each). Around 50 people in line for it. Once you lineup, someone will ask you to pay first and give you a ticket. Waited around 45 minutes. I'm not sure what people like about it. The sauce tasted terrible. I'm not sure what it was but I couldn't stand it. The texture of the squid wasn't bad.
I also tried the deep fried sweet potato chips on a stick ($9). Not fresh at all. The chips were cold and not even crunchy!
There were also lots of kids and strollers in the night market. Personally, I don't think it is very suitable to bring kids as they could get trampled on as there are lots and lots of people. I also don't like getting rolled on by the strollers.
The only thing that I liked about this night market was that there were lots of freebies! Free Haagen Dazs ice cream bar, free skittles, free chatime fan, free sunglasses, etc. Also, all the proceeds of Night it Up! go to a beneficiary, this year, ALS double play. I guess that's better than going to the owners.
I might come back for the freebies, but not so much the food.
